Frederick, MD >> One of the newest churches in Sovereign Grace is sending a student to the Pastors College of Sovereign Grace Ministries. Trav and Cindy Neumann of Sovereign Grace Church of Frederick (SGCF), along with their youngest daughter, Emmie, will move to Gaithersburg, Maryland, this summer so Trav can attend the Pastors College. A brand-new church doesn’t normally send someone to the Pastors College so quickly, but Trav and Cindy have prepared over time to make this move. Their goal is to be trained in ministry and then return to serve the Frederick church.

Indiana, PA >> Many people know Mark Altrogge as the writer of more than 200 songs for worship, including “I’m Forever Grateful” and “I Stand in Awe.” But what some don’t know is that Mark has served as senior pastor of Lord of Life Church in Indiana, Pennsylvania, for more than 25 years. Last November Lord of Life honored Mark and his wife, Kristi, for their faithful service. Recently Larissa Whitely, who is part of Mark’s church, wrote to us about some of the many ways God has used Mark and Kristi over the years.

Gaithersburg, MD >> On May 21, the Pastors College graduated its ninth class. During the graduation ceremony (held at Covenant Life Church), graduates recounted their year of training, honored their wives for their heroic service, received long-awaited diplomas, and heard a pastoral charge from C.J. Mahaney.

Gaithersburg, MD >> For the third consecutive year, Jessica Marcantonio and Mindy Hooper of the Sovereign Grace staff have humbled the men of the Pastors College by defeating them in volleyball. In a rousing match cheered by fans on both sides, the carefully selected PC team of Darren Lander and Jared Mellinger, well, didn’t quite cut it. After a few early misses, the guys found their pace and started to look pretty strong. Before long they were ahead 13-8 in a 15-point game. With momentum on their side, the PC seemed positioned for an easy win. That’s when the ladies rallied, bringing home 7 consecutive points to seal the victory. The sad part is that, for the PC, this was their best year yet.

Phil is senior pastor of Sovereign Grace Church in Apex, North Carolina. Nathan, who has a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary, assists Jeff Purswell, Dean of the Pastors College, in research and in the development of theological resources for Sovereign Grace Ministries.

Ken graduated from the first class of the School of Ministry (the forerunner to the Pastors College) in 1991 and serves as senior pastor of Living Hope Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Jared, a student in this year's Pastors College class, was profoundly influenced by the life of his dad.
