11/22/06 :: Grace and flu shots in Florida
West Orlando, FL >> It’s flu shot season, and for the members of Grace Church, that’s another opportunity to spread the gospel in their community. Senior pastor Wayne Brooks sent us this update.
Grace Church Orlando participated in a community “free flu shot” program on November 15. Businesses and medical clinics came together to provide over 3,000 free shots. Because of a medical professional who attends Grace Church (Dr. Scott Brady), Grace Church was invited to help.
We passed out water as people waited in line, helped people fill out paperwork for the shots, and assisted with parking for the event. We were able to have a table to give away items as people were leaving.
We gave away over 1,500 Grace Church balloons to the children, about 2,000 refrigerator magnets (with our “You’re Invited” cards on them), plus water and candy!
It was a great opportunity to get the word out about this church plant in West Orlando, as well as serve the community with this servant outreach. God opened doors for us to have a number of in-depth conversations with people who were interested in the church.
