A note to members of Sovereign Grace churches >> Do you think often of God’s work beyond your local church? Every year, Sovereign Grace churches dedicate one Sunday meeting to our Mission Presentation—an opportunity to hear what God is so graciously doing among us and to contribute to this ministry. If you haven’t yet seen the Mission Presentation video, here’s a preview.
We have a mission statement at Sovereign Grace Ministries. Maybe you’ve heard it: Sovereign Grace Ministries exists to start, establish, and strengthen local churches with the gospel, for God's glory. Mission Month is our chance to show you how God is using our family of churches to do just that. And it’s an opportunity to say “thank you” for the prayers and financial support that you so faithfully sow into that work—and for your investment in your local church.
This year, we’re excited to let Sovereign Grace churches in New Orleans and in the United Kingdom tell their stories for Mission Month. In each region a church has recently been added to our family of churches. Lakeview Christian Center in New Orleans was adopted into Sovereign Grace last year in the midst of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. Meanwhile, the newly planted Sovereign Grace Church in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, became the third Sovereign Grace church in the U.K.—joining Christchurch in Newport, South Wales, and Grace Church in Bristol, England.
Both of these newly-added churches are facing significant challenges. Lakeview sits in one of the many sections of New Orleans brought to near-complete physical ruin by a storm. Sovereign Grace Church in Merthyr Tydfil, on the other hand, sits amidst a nation in which only a tiny fraction of the population knows Christ as Lord. But it was God who by his grace placed both of these churches where they are, and our passion is to see both of these local churches strengthened and equipped to carry the gospel into the physical and spiritual poverty that surrounds them. This year’s Mission Presentation video tells the story of how you are helping to make that happen, through your prayer, financial support, and faithful service in your local church.
With more than 65 churches across the globe, the Sovereign Grace family is growing. The Mission Month presentation is our way of helping you to see the fruit of your generosity and prayers.
