06/06/06 :: Prayerful expansion

Apex, NC >> Sovereign Grace Church has been praying, brainstorming, and planning for months. The goal: enlarge their building to seat almost 600 people. The provision: an unexpected offering. Associate pastor Daniel Baker sent us this update…

April 9, 2006 was an historic Sunday for Sovereign Grace Church of Apex, North Carolina. After months of prayerful anticipation, brainstorming, talking with leaders and church members about our plans for expanding our facility, and anointed teaching by Phil Sasser, Gene Emerson, and Mickey Connolly, the time had come to allow the church to invest into the kingdom of God by contributing to a special offering toward what we are calling The Expansion Project. God surpassed all of our expectations as members gave $102,093.00 in cash, and committed to give a total of $325,584.00. For those familiar with such projects, this reflects more than two months of giving given in cash, and more than 50% of our annual budget in total pledges. In other words—praise God! It positions us well to confidently proceed with plans we believe to be God’s will for us. Lord willing, within the next year, we will be able to increase our facility from a maximum of around 375 people to around 575 people. How kind of God to allow us to serve such a generous group of people.
