Caring for children in need

Guadalupe, Mexico >> After Hurricane Katrina, the Rancho3M orphanage and school found their support base diminished. Director Dean Adamek sent us a letter about how Sovereign Grace churches came to their aid to meet this and other needs.

Who we are

Rancho3M is a cross-centered Christian orphanage and school located in Guadalupe, Mexico. We are about an hour from the Sovereign Grace churches in Juarez and El Paso. Our short-term vision is to glorify God by training up and discipling our children in the ways of Jesus Christ so that when they are older they will be obedient to what God is calling them to. Most of our kids have been abused or abandoned. By God’s grace and a lot of help from Carlos Contreras’ staff [Comunidad Cristiana de Cd. Juárez, Mexico], we have established an elementary school, Colegio Logsdon, to assist us in discipling our children better.

Care after Katrina

We would like to express our very deep gratitude in how the Lord has used Sovereign Grace Ministries in taking care of us after Katrina. We are an extension of the ministry of Lakeview Christian Center of New Orleans, a recently adopted church body into Sovereign Grace Ministries. Lakeview was devastated by the storm. They are our home church and have faithfully, lovingly, and generously supported us since we were first sent out, over seven years ago. They have also been very generously supporting the orphanage financially and with volunteer work ever since we moved here.

Therefore when Hurricane Katrina hit, we knew that it would be a wonderful test of faith for not only our family but for the entire orphanage and school. A week or so after the storm, I had a heart-to-heart talk with my wife about how we would not only have to cut back financially, but cut out many parts of the budget. We also had to repent to God for taking Lakeview’s faithfulness for granted.

Then I had a meeting with our staff to discuss how we could cut expenses. It was painful since we already operate on a tight budget. Twenty percent of all of the Ranch support has come from Lakeview for some time now, and we were preparing to operate without that for a season. That is, until I received a phone call from Pat Ennis from Sovereign Grace Ministries, who inquired about our situation and graciously and joyfully offered to cover for a season what Lakeview normally sends. WOW. What generosity, what care!

God is using folks like you to take care of kids that are so special in his eyes. Thank you for making that possible. Most of the children here come from abused or abandoned situations. We just accepted a girl of eleven whose biological parents are in jail for severely abusing an infant and causing permanent brain damage. These kids are in great need of God’s grace. Thank you for making Psalm 27:10 a reality to them all: “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.”

Therefore because of your generosity and sacrificial giving, we are able to continue to care for the children here without changing a thing. The founder of Rancho3M orphanage told me before she died that because of God’s provision, the children never had to go to bed hungry since it was first opened in 1969. Thank you for allowing God Almighty to use you to testify to the children, the staff, and the surrounding community that He is God our Provider. We are humbled by your generosity and care for not only us but our beloved home church, Lakeview Christian Center. Thank you.

Mission trip from Sovereign Grace Church (Apex, NC)

We would like to share our very deep appreciation and gratitude to Phil Sasser’s church in North Carolina [Sovereign Grace Church] for coming down recently to bless us so amazingly. It was truly a privilege for us to have them here. Daniel Baker did an excellent job teaching through the book of Ephesians, from which all of us on staff greatly benefited. During these classes, most of their group took care of the kids with exciting and creative activities. Mark Schlax did a great job organizing and leading the construction teams. Among other things, they tiled two thousand square feet of classrooms; built a shed and a number of closets around the heaters; painted; fixed roof damage; and installed a full set of kitchen cabinets, counter, and sink in the school. We appreciate their high quality of workmanship and care, doing their work as unto the Lord. Thank you!!!

Their team ministered to our kids and staff in many ways. Our children here really click with Sovereign Grace groups for many reasons, but I believe that the predominant one is that you guys come with humility and a genuine heart to serve. Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful week of service in the Lord. We appreciate you guys so much and are humbled by your care for us. Thank you also for sending us Matt Noel to intern here for 6 months.

Because of the cross of Jesus Christ,

Dean Adamek
