11/29/05 :: Building project back on track after delays
Gainesville, FL >> Back in September, Mike Gilland, pastor at Abundant Grace Community Church, emailed us about unexpected delays in their church building project. We're happy to report that the project is back on track. Read an update from Mike....
Abundant Grace Community Church’s building process is now back on track–just a different track than we would have anticipated! After a snag came up in September that left us a bit in limbo, we now have the process in view. Our church is working with a different department at our civil engineer's office called "planning and development." What this means at the bottom line is that we have to apply as a "planned development" (or "PD," similar to what a subdivision developer would have to do) in order to get a needed variance from the county. These steps should go smoothly, as the first step in the plan–a neighborhood meeting to outline our plans–took place on November 22nd and went very well. There is no neighborhood opposition! For that, we are very grateful. In fact, one of our neighbors visited our Sunday gathering two weeks ago! God is giving us favor in our neighborhood.
If all goes as expected, we are hoping to present our finished "PD" to the county council in February and receive approval as early as May. How grateful we are to know and trust in God's sovereignty. He is in control, and has a purpose for this delay. Thanks for your prayers for Abundant Grace.
