Proverbs 15:23 is a sweet verse which sums up the reason we've created the girl talk blog. It exclaims, "a word in season, how good it is!"
Women who strive for godly womanhood today-whether young or old-do so in the face of constant opposition from the world around us. Every day they are bombarded with the message that the way in which they have chosen to live is unappealing, unimportant and a waste of time.
So every day we want to remind them of their high calling to adorn the gospel, and the grace to do so that flows from the cross. We hope to provide a good word in season to a young mother who is tired and overwhelmed, to the college girl whose battling worldly, feminist ideology, for the single woman who wonders what biblical femininity means for her, for a mom and daughter who are working at their relationship, and to the woman entering menopause whose life is changing all around her.
The modern invention of weblogs allows us to, in a sense, invite hundreds of women-whom we otherwise would never meet-to a seat at Mom's kitchen table. It's a holy and a humbling opportunity. And it's our prayer that every woman who reads this blog will be encouraged, challenged, informed, and not least of all--laugh a little, because "a word in season, how good it is!"
