10/13/05 :: Dads and girls talk
Knoxville, TN >> It's not just girls who read Girl Talk. Dave Willis, a small-group leader at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville, reads the blog too. So does Craig Cooper, also at Cornerstone Church. Here's what they have to say....

I read Girl Talk about every other day. In fact, I printed out about 10 copies of the article on battling being overwhelmed that they posted last week and gave it out at care group last Friday. I have already had about three different comments from folks saying that the article really helped them. I have also printed some of the posts, have brought the Friday funny home to the family a couple times (they really loved the one about the teacher with the panty hose problem, lots of laughter), and have directed some folks to posts that I thought might help them in the season they were in. It's a great resource.

Just quick thoughts here, and I could hit more later. But, I have the linked saved as a Favorites page and try to read it as much as I can.
I think it's SO helpful to hear everything they write about, even as a man, because they so often reference C.J.'s leadership, activities they've done as families, or issues that relate to all of us, regardless of our gender. It's just about pursuing godliness and it helps me to get excited about my wife and daughter.
Anytime you can hear ANY Mahaney talk, why not take advantage of it???? It's also helped me understand just how difficult and how important and how lasting my wife's role is in our family. I really believe that what she does on a daily basis is much more challenging, demanding, and more significant than what I do when I leave the house for work.
I had the thought yesterday that I want to go back and read all the sections I've missed, and that's exactly what I'm planning to do.
Ultimately, it points back to effective leadership by C.J., which is why you encouraged the men to read it.
I think it's wonderful!
